The lecture provides an in depth description of the allergen-specific and general type 2 immune response with tissue and blood eosinophilia, excessive and bad mucus production, tissue remodeling, barrier disfunction, microbial dysbiosis, the role of key cytokines (IL4, IL13, IL5, IL9, TSLP, IL33, IL25).

The origins of the T2 response are also discussed, together with the environmental impact. At the end practical examples on how to measure barrier dysfunction are described.
