E-learning material about AllergoOncology

AllergoOncology was a TF of the Immunology Section. During 2020, it experienced a transition to a Working Group (WG) due to the increase in relevance and development of the field. This interdisciplinary WG is formed by both, basic and clinical researchers in allergy, immunology and cancer, who contribute to keep a translational overview of the field.  Junior members (JMs) have been involved in the development and broadcast of this collaborative and innovative discipline for the benefit of patients, in consonance with EAACI strategic goals. Several works have been already published by the members of the WG and it is expected to increase the projects including new TF to go deeply into the understanding of this area and to create learning material to promote the knowledge about AllergoOncology. According to the ROC priorities an e-learning project, involving JMs, is proposed with the aim of increasing the visibility of this innovative and multidisciplinary WG on allergy, immunology and cancer and its research achievements. Following the directions of the Europe’s Beating Cancer plan in creating higher quality health workforce, this TF will help to promote the translational research role of the Allergooncology WG and optimize the collaboration with cancer specialists, ultimately benefit cancer patients’ management.

The objectives will be achieved by creating in the EAACI e-learning platform, a section about Allergooncology including: “Meet the expert” interviews to the authors of previous publications from the WG conducted by JM; “ Webcasts” with recorded talks of the WG/experts in the AllergoOncology field, during EAACI events; and Short animated infographic videos about the previous papers to create a specific educational material on this topic. Also, material for social media will be created to share in the EAACI official resources.
