Immunopharmacology: non-biological therapeutic approaches in allergy and clinical immunology

The Taskforce of Immunopharmacology was established 2017 to form a multidisciplinary group of physicians and basic scientists, in order to review current basic, pre-clinical and clinical research underlying the development of therapeutic strategies for the treatment of allergic and chronic inflammatory lung diseases examine and propose recent breakthroughs on basic mechanisms of immune regulation that could be targetable for the treatment of allergic and autoimmune diseases by different strategies describe the main opportunities and challenges associated to these therapeutic strategies, as well as the relationship with key biologic-based approachesWe have so far generated two Position Papers (refs). Our next PP will focus on disease-driven immune senescence and how its metabolic pathways could be targeted for therapeutic strategies to ameliorate allergy and chronic inflammatory lung diseases.
