The EAACI IG of Drug Allergy and allergy diagnosis & systems Medicine will provide a consensus recommendation about the mast cell activation test (MAT). The MAT is a novel diagnostic tool in allergy diagnosis, especially food allergy and immediate drug hypersensitivity which can be used to diagnose IgE-mediated reactions but also to improve our knowledge about IgE-independent reactions. The aims of this consensus recommendation are to provide basic researches with the current knowledge about the technical novelties of the test and clinicians with practical information about its clinical applications.
