Phenotypes and endotypes of pediatric asthma
Phenotypes and endotypes of pediatric asthma
Asthma is a common chronic condition that affects the airways in the lungs, affecting about 10% of children and adolescents worldwide. It is now defined as a heterogeneous disease, encompassing different subgroups (phenotypes) according to clinical features (such as age of onset, triggers, severity, and response to treatment) and underlying molecular mechanisms of the disease (endotypes). This TF aims to update knowledge on childhood asthma heterogeneity to better understand the different subtypes of the disease and develop more personalized treatments.
